Technology Today

Today's world is world dominated by technology. Corporations, schools, and businesses, both big and small, are adapting to the technological revolution. Technology has been proven to be more efficient and faster than humans in many situations. Many people cannot imagine a world without technology because it's like an addiction. Once someone has had a taste of technology it's difficult to let go. Not many people can say that they go throughout the day without using any technology. It is obvious that there has been an increase in the reliance on technology. Some would argue that there can be too much dependence on technology. On a college campus, the majority of students can be seen on a computer, phone, or iPod. A phone can be seen as a security blanket for some. In awkward situations people usually access their phone. While having conversations with people, often one of the participants will get a text message and stop talking in order to respond. The saying “all things in moderation” is commonly heard, and can be applied to technology too. Too much technology can be unhealthy for people. Kids no longer play outside as much as kids twenty years ago did. A world without technology is unimaginable today because of the improvements that technology has made possible, but this steady direction towards a world completely dependent on technology can be dangerous. There needs to be a moderation of technology so that the world does not become completely dependent on technology. Just think of what you would do if technology failed for a year, what would you do? How would you survive?
